Agency: Transportation

August 29, 2008 -- Work crews are scheduled to begin a pavement repair project on 1 mile of US-12 (Michigan Avenue) in West Dearborn, beginning the week of Sept. 8. The repair work, between Brady and Washington streets, is expected to take place during the overnight hours to limit the impact to businesses along the corridor.

During the overnight hours, the contractor will maintain a single lane of traffic in each direction of Michigan Avenue. On weekday evenings, work will begin at 9 p.m., with all lanes open to traffic by 5 a.m. the following morning. On weekends, crews will begin repair work at 9 p.m., with all lanes open by 8 a.m. the following morning.

This $456,000 investment will replace the most deteriorated sections of pavement in order to improve the ride quality on this heavily traveled roadway in West Dearborn. All work is scheduled to be completed by early November.
