The Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center in P.J. Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon will host the Gillette Nature Association's annual spring native plant sale on Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre-orders are being accepted now.

Due to the overwhelming demand for spring woodland wildflowers such as white trillium, the Gillette Nature Association is offering an opportunity for individuals to reserve in advance the plants they want. Pre-orders will be accepted until March 12. Pre-ordering plants makes an excellent gift for the hard to buy for gardener on your gift list. Pre-order forms may be requested by calling the Gillette Visitor Center at (231) 798-3573 or online at www.gillettenature.org.

The selection of plants available for pre-order include white trillium, yellow trillium, hepatica, Jack-in-the-pulpit, marsh marigold, wild ginger, Virginia bluebells, Christmas fern and many others. During the May 1 sale day, additional native plant varieties will be available for those who come early to shop. The visitor center staff will be offering special programs and hikes on the day of the sale.

For more information about the Gillette Nature Association, the native wildflowers available for pre-sale or about programs provided by the Gillette Visitor Center, please call (231) 798-3573 or visit www.michigan.gov/dnr or www.gillettenature.org.
