November 30, 2005
The Governor’s Residence and the Governor’s Ceremonial Office at
the Capitol are exhibiting student decorative art submitted by 35 Michigan Schools
during the month of December. The displays are part of a unique partnership
between the Governor’s Office, public schools, teachers, artist in residence
programs and the Department of Education to provide students with a project
that teaches them real-world skills. The student art is inspired by the theme,
“ABC’s of Michigan: Many Ways of Learning”.
Participating Schools were invited to visit the Governor's Residence for a
Special Open House on Wednesday, November 30, 2005. 23 schools were able to
make the field trip.
