Job Description

 

Assists anesthesiologists in the formulation and implementation of an anesthesia care plan and sets up anesthesia machines such as cardiac monitors, breathing apparatus or suction equipment in the operating room to assist the anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist during and prior to operation on a patient. Calibrates, maintains, and operates a wide variety of specialized technical equipment. Applies knowledge of surgical equipment placement, medical terminology, and sequence of operation procedures to assist physician or nurse anesthetist. Orders supplies, drugs, and equipment. May organize and manage functioning of the anesthesia workroom.
