Take the heat off summer gas prices by sharing the good news about the Michigan Education Trust (MET) with friends, family and coworkers. Participants in MET's refer-a-friend program will be entered for a chance to win a $100 gas card and help others learn about saving for college with prepaid tuition. MET is the nation's first prepaid tuition program and offers a guaranteed way to protect college savings against future tuition increases, by locking in tomorrow's tuition at today's rates.

Entering the refer-a-friend program is easy. Visit MetReferAFriend.com and enter your name and contact information, along with information for a friend who would like to learn more about MET and its educational benefits. There is no limit to the number of friends that can be referred?participants should simply create a new entry for each referral. A monthly drawing determines the lucky winner of a $100 gas card.

"Summer sporting events and backyard barbeques offer great opportunities to talk about the benefits of MET with friends and family, but with MET's refer-a-friend program, sharing this important information is even easier," said MET Director Robin Lott. "We encourage participants in the refer-a-friend program to learn about the MET guarantee, which ensures that families can help students continue their education by locking in tomorrow's tuition at today's rates."

Since its debut in 1988 as the nation's first guaranteed tuition program, MET has sold more than 89,000 contracts. Not only are MET contracts portable to Michigan private and out-of-state colleges and universities, they may be transferred to other eligible family members. Since 1988, more than 90 percent of high school graduates with MET contracts have gone on to attend a college or university.

Visit SETwithMET.com or call 1-800-MET-4-KID (800-638-4543) for more information about MET contracts. Visit MetReferAFriend.com to participate in the MET refer-a-friend program.
