Find a Department of Human Services county office?

Provides cash assistance to eligible families with children (formerly known as AFDC). A family with income may be eligible if the income is less than the family's needs by FIP standards. The average FIP payment per case in Fiscal Year 2000 was $374.77 per month. The average family size was 3 individuals. Benefits are now provided electronically through the Bridge Card (see #18) and can be redeemed at many merchants and ATM machines. Applications are available at the Department of Human Services office in each county. For the location in your county, click here: http://www.michigan.gov/dhs/1,1607,7-124-5461---,00.html.
