Lower Herring Access Site Closing Temporarily Due to Road Construction

The Department of Natural Resources announced that the Lower Herring Boating Access Site on Lower Herring Lake will be temporarily closed starting Monday, Sept. 8, due to the Benzie County Road Commission's work to replace the Elberta Resort Bridge deck.

The road commission predicts the road will be closed through Sept. 19.

For information about the road closure, contact Nancy Roseman, P.E., Benzie County Highway engineer/assistant manager, at (231) 325-3051, ext. 202, or Craig Gulseth at Interlochen State Park at (231) 276-9511, for information about the reopening of the Lower Herring access site.
