Maybury State Park in Wayne County will host a "GO-Get Outdoors" Owl Prowl on Saturday, Dec. 5, beginning at 6 p.m.
Park visitors will meet at the concession stand and enjoy a roaring fire, stories, refreshments and the opportunity to call in some of the local resident owls.
"This will be our fourth annual Owl Prowl," said Tom Bissett, park supervisor. "We have been successful at calling in the owls, and last year we got the owls to fly overhead. Because the leaves have dropped, it is easier to see the owls roosting in the trees, and some participants have been able to get excellent photos of the owls."
Maybury State Park is located at 20145 Beck Road in Northville. For more information about this event, accessibility, or persons needing accommodations to attend this event, please contact the park supervisor at (248) 349-8390 (TTY/TDD 711 Michigan Relay Center for the hearing impaired).
Although this event is free, all motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
