Airplane, helicopter rides highlight Sept. 28 open house at Canton-Plymouth Mettetal Airport

September 25, 2013 -- Airplane and helicopter rides will highlight an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Canton-Plymouth Mettetal Airport, 8550 N. Lilley Road in Canton. Admission and parking are free and the public is welcome.

The airplane and helicopter rides, about five to 10 minutes in length, will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured will be Cessna and Diamond aircraft and a Bell helicopter. There is a charge for the rides.

Other highlights:
  • On display will be Beechcraft Bonanza, Cessna, Cirrus, Mooney and Piper aircraft, and about 20 home-built aircraft.
  • Also on display will be numerous model airplanes.
  • Music will be provided by a band composed of pilots.
  • Free doughnuts and cider.
