Dudley Randall and his creation, Broadside Press, made Detroit a hub for the Black Arts Movement of the 1960s and 1970s.  These poets found in Broadside Press a powerful vehicle for getting their work into the hands of everyday people.  The Library of Michigan is pleased to show case and display our collection of broadsides and books for this year’s African-American History Month.  Stop in to enjoy this unique collection.

Gear up for the next season!

The Library of Michigan is once again teaming up with the Painted Trout staff of Dexter Michigan to teach a starter fly tying class.  The class will start off with the classic and helpful Woolly Bugger fly and may advance to the gentle Mayfly lure.  Ladies do not be shy; your instructor just may be owner Lauren Kingsley.  The Library of Michigan is a low stress learning facility. 

There is a nominal registration fee of $10.00 to hold your place in class and registration is required.  

Parking is always free on Saturdays at the Library of Michigan
