Yankee Springs Recreation Area--Recreation 101: Intro to Geocaching

Date:  October 19, 2013
Time:  10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Location: Yankee Springs Recreation Area, 2104 S. Briggs Road, Middleville, MI, 49333

Maybe you've heard of geocaching and wondered what it was, or even thought of trying it out for yourself. Well, here's your chance! Come learn the basics of geocaching and how much fun you can have and learn how to start your very own real life, GPS guided treasure hunt!

Geocaching experts from the Michigan Geocaching Organization (MiGO) will be on hand to discuss all of the gear and resources you'll need to start enjoying this rapidly growing activity before we hit the trails and find some caches.

We will be meeting at the Gun Lake Day Use area pavilion.

MiGO also invites you to stick around after Geocaching 101 for their Fall Fun Day, where they will be having even more geocaching fun as they place new caches and have a delicious potluck lunch!

Please Note: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources makes every effort to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on the web calendar. However, dates occasionally change and events may be canceled for any reason. Please call the unit hosting the event to confirm dates and times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into all Michigan State Parks and Recreation Areas. Check "YES" when you renew your license plate. Learn more at www.michigan.gov/recreationpassport.
