MDOT to host public information meeting to discuss improvements to I-94 in Jackson

WHAT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will hold an open house-style meeting to discuss the proposed design of the I-94/Cooper Street interchange and the bridge over the Grand River in Blackman Township. The proposed design now includes additional design elements that were added during the design phase of the I-94/Cooper interchange.

BACKGROUND: The improvements on I-94 at Cooper Street include relocating entrance and exit ramps, building new roundabouts at the ramp intersections, and reconstructing the bridge over I-94. The project also includes the reconstruction of the I-94 bridge over the Grand River, which will accommodate the future construction of additional lanes on I-94, and resurfacing 9 miles of freeway through Jackson.

At the meeting, residents can meet MDOT staff, view displays and learn more about MDOT's plans to improve I-94 from M-60 to Sargent Road in Jackson County.
