Agency: Transportation

Fast Facts:
- I-94 will have one lane open in each direction between I-696 and Masonic Boulevard on Saturday and Sunday.
- On Monday, April 15, I-94 traffic will be shifted to the outside shoulders in order for crews to reconstruct the shoulders and barrier wall, and make drainage improvements.
- Several ramps will be closed during this stage of the construction project.

April 11, 2013 -- I-94 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between I-696 and Masonic Boulevard in Macomb County from 6 a.m. Saturday, April 13, through 8 p.m. Sunday, April 14. The lanes will be closed while crews paint stripes for a traffic shift. By 8 p.m. Sunday, both directions of I-94 will have three lanes open with traffic shifted to the right. Reduced speeds will be posted.

In addition, the following ramps will be closed for the weekend:
- The eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94, and
- The westbound I-94 exit ramp to and entrance ramp from 12 Mile Road.

During the traffic shift, crews will begin drainage repair, barrier wall replacement and shoulder reconstruction on the 4-mile stretch. Due to traffic being shifted to the right shoulder, the following ramps will remain closed until mid-summer:
- The 12 Mile Road entrance ramp to eastbound I-94,
- 11 Mile Road entrance ramp to eastbound I-94,
- The eastbound I-94 exit ramp to Gratiot Avenue,
- The Gratiot Avenue entrance ramp to westbound I-94,
- The Little Mack Avenue entrance ramp to westbound I-94, and
- The 11 Mile Road entrance ramp to westbound I-94.
All work on this $20 million investment is scheduled to be completed in October.
