- All work on this $195,000 project is expected to be completed in November.

August 27, 2013 -- In anticipation of increased traffic during the I-96 closure in 2014, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be widening a portion of the southbound I-275 exit to 6 Mile Road. Crews will close the left shoulder of the exit ramp beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3. All work on this $195,000 investment is scheduled to be completed in mid-November.

In 2014, MDOT will close both directions of I-96 between Newburgh Road and US-24 (Telegraph Road) for reconstruction. Traffic simulations done in preparation of the I-96 closure show a high likelihood for additional vehicles exiting southbound I-275 at 6 Mile Road. This project will extend the left-turn lane on the ramp to accommodate the additional traffic expected.

Crews will work during the daytime until the project is completed.
