MDOT ribbon-cutting event to mark end of construction in East Lansing and Meridian Township

Ribbon-cutting event to mark the end of construction this year on M-43 (Grand River Avenue) and M-143 (Michigan Avenue) in East Lansing and Meridian Township.

BACKGROUND:
M-43 (Grand River Avenue) work included resurfacing between Coolidge Avenue and Park Lake Road, intersection and signal upgrades, and the installation of a nonmotorized path on the east side of the project.

On M-143 (Michigan Avenue), work included resurfacing from just east of US-127 to the Grand River Avenue split, along with intersection and signal upgrades, and the installation of indirect left turns at the intersections of Harrison Road and Beal Street.

All of these improvements were designed to improve traffic flow at the intersections and increase motorist and pedestrian safety. Both projects were completed in one construction season.
