September 25, 2017 -- Emily Misner of St. Ignace is the winner of the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) 2017 Mackinac Bridge Annual Bridge Walk social media promotion. Misner won a trip to the top of the Mackinac Bridge after the photo she shared with MDOT on Facebook was drawn at random. She will be able to take this once-in-a-lifetime tour sometime in 2018.
This is the sixth year of MDOT's Annual Bridge Walk social media promotion. More than 235 memories were submitted. On the day of the event, more than 175 memories were shared by bridge walkers, including Gov. Rick Snyder and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley.
The contest called for people to post their Annual Bridge Walk memories from this and previous years on their Instagram or Twitter accounts using the hashtag #MightyMacWalk17, or to share their memories on MDOT's Facebook page.
