Waterloo Recreation Area--UM/MSU Rivalry Weekend

Date:  November 02, 2013  -  November 03, 2013
Time:  All Day Event
Location: Waterloo Recreation Area - Portage Lake Unit, 11500 Seymour Road, Grass Lake, MI 49240

For campers only, your U of M/MSU game day will never be the same once you've experienced it at the Portage Lake campground. Show your school spirit with campsite decorating, activities and contests, including a tug-of-war between rival fans. Then pack up your chairs and snacks and head over to the Big Screen to watch the game with tons of other campers. Go ___________! (insert school choice here)

As some of you might have heard, we are upgrading our reservation system this fall and it will not go active until November 1st. Because of this no one will be able to make a reservation ahead of time for Friday or Saturday night. SO ... this is how the process will work for this year only. You can make a site specific reservation (online or on the phone) for Thursday night (one night only) October 31st, and then we will extend your reservation when you arrive at the park for Friday and Saturday night. Otherwise, all campsites will be first come/first serve for this weekend.

Please contact the park directly with any questions: 734-475-8307. We apologize for this inconvenience, but with the upgraded reservation system your future camping experiences will be greatly enhanced and improved. Thanks for bearing with us during the transition.

Please Note: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources makes every effort to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on the web calendar. However, dates occasionally change and events may be canceled for any reason. Please call the unit hosting the event to confirm dates and times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into all Michigan State Parks and Recreation Areas. Check "YES" when you renew your license plate. Learn more at www.michigan.gov/recreationpassport.
