MOIS Career Development System

Michigan Occupational Information System (MOIS)

The Michigan Occupational Information System, more commonly known as MOIS, provides a wide variety of career development products and services for students in grades K-12 and for adults in transition. MOIS is housed at the Michigan Virtual University (MVU), but serves the entire state.

The MOIS CD, a computer-based comprehensive career development system, is available in most Michigan schools, public libraries, Michigan Works! Service Centers, and private agencies. The myDreamExplorer.org web site offers information and activities to students who are exploring careers and researching their options. In addition, MOIS develops or contracts for products that meet the needs of students and adults. The Department of Labor and Economic Growth licenses MVU to develop and distribute these products.

The products include two web sites (http://www.mois.org and http://www.myDreamExplorer.org); Michigan Career Pathway booklets, posters and brochures for elementary, middle and high school; and professional development materials for educators.

For more information, contact Jan Kirkpatrick, MVU, 3101 Technology Blvd., Suite G, Lansing, MI 48910; toll-free 888-532-5806, Ext. 5455.
