What:

Beginning March 28, Level 1 and Level 2 licensed drivers under the Graduated Driver Licensing program are prohibited from using a cell phone while driving. The speakers will provide an explanation of Kelsey's Law which was named in honor of Kelsey Raffaele, 17, of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., who was killed in a cell phone-related crash in 2010.

Materials from the new Put Your Phone In Park public information campaign will be presented.

This event will take place during the Michigan Traffic Safety Summit. More than 400 people will attend the three-day conference, March 26-28, to get the latest information on traffic safety law enforcement issues, engineering best practices, emergency medical services and education.

The Governor's Traffic Safety Advisory Commission Awards Luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m., March 27. Bonnie Raffaele will be presented with a 2012 Outstanding Traffic Safety Achievement Award.
