Announcement of 2014 Automobile Theft Prevention Authority Grants

Contact: Tim Bailor, ATPA Coordinator, (517) 241-1086

Agency: State Police

LANSING. The Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) is currently accepting applications from law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, judicial agencies and community/neighborhood organizations for enforcement, prosecution, community awareness and prevention programs aimed at reducing automobile theft.

These grants are funded from assessments paid by insurance companies to the ATPA. Due to the limited funds available, a 50 percent hard match is required for all applicants, with the exception of non-profit neighborhood and community organizations. Funds must be utilized to enhance auto theft prevention efforts, not for supplanting current programs.

To obtain a grant application, visit www.michigan.gov/atpa.The forms are located at the bottom of the page under ATPA forms.

The Fiscal Year 2014 grant period will begin on Oct. 1, 2013, and end on Sept. 30, 2014.

Grant applications must be postmarked no later than June 3, 2013.
