Child Support Complaint Filing Information

Complaint Processing Information

Please understand that we are not in a position to pursue all of the complaints that are submitted.  If you have more than one child support case, please complete a form for each Non-Custodial Parent.

  1. All complaints should be submitted using our Child Support Complaint Form.

  2. When you submit the form, you will immediately be informed of your Web File Number.  Make a record of this number.

  3.

  4. File a new form for each Non-Custodial Parent if you have more than one child support case.  Do not file a new form for        follow-up or additional information.

  5.

  6. Be sure to include the addresses and telephone numbers of the parents involved.  If not known, please fill in with the best of   your ability.

  7.

  8. If you like to include copies of documents that relate to you complaint, (Examples: child support orders, tax forms etc.), DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS.  Please make certain your documents have some identifying information (Web File Number, your name and date) so that we are able to match your information with your complaint.  All documents should be on 8-1/2" x 11" single-sided paper. You may send documents that relate to your complaint to:

                    Child Support Division

                    P.O. Box 30758

                    Lansing, MI  48929-8258

                    Facsimile: (517) 335-5328

                    Email: agcscd@michigan.gov

If you have any questions, please call the Child Support Division Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at (517) 373-1111.

With each complaint, a 90-day investigation period begins to identify the financial resources a parent has that would allow them to meet their responsibility.  A letter will be sent to notify you whether or not your case meets our criteria to proceed with felony non-support prosecution. There is no need for you to contact our office to check on the status of our investigation.
