Board of State Canvassers meeting Friday, July 28, 2006 at 11:00 A.M.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT THE BOARD OF STATE CANVASSERS WILL CONDUCT A MEETING ON FRIDAY, JULY 28, 2006 AT 11:00 A.M. IN ROOM 426 OF THE STATE CAPITOL, LANSING, MICHIGAN.


Included on the Agenda will be:

  • Notice of meeting and affidavit of posting.

  • Consideration of meeting minutes for approval.

  • Consideration of legislative initiative petition filed by Repeal SBT, 124 West Allegan, Suite 800, Lansing, MI 48933.

  • Establishment of deadline for challenging signatures appearing on the initiative petition filed on July 10, 2006 by Stop Overspending, 3156 Penobscot Building, Detroit, MI 48226-4105.

  • Establishment of standard policy regarding the submission of challenges against signatures appearing on initiative and referendum petitions filed with the Secretary of State.

  • Such other and further business as may be properly presented to the Board.

A person may address the Board on any agenda item at the end of the meeting. A person who wishes to address the Board on an agenda item at the time the item is being discussed must submit a written request to the Chairperson of the Board prior to the opening of the meeting. Persons addressing the Board are allotted three minutes.
