NOVEMBER 26, 2003

Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in the Calhoun County community of Battle Creek on Dec.10 - 11 to serve area customers.

The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

It will be at DENSO in Battle Creek, One Denso Rd. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 10, and 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 11.

"We are continuing to make the Department of State more convenient and accessible," Land said. "The Mobile Branch Office is a practical tool that lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan."

For the last visit of this year, the Mobile Branch Office travels to Richland Township. It has logged nearly 100,000 miles since it first hit the road six years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
