Renewing by mail or at a Secretary of State office
When renewing a license plate by mail or at a Secretary of State office, you must provide your no-fault insurance if your renewal notice does not have a PIN or the phrase "insurance verified electronically" printed on it.

Renewing online
If you are renewing a plate online (or at a Self-Service Station), the system will automatically check to see if your insurance is verified.
