Optical
Scan Tabulator Programming: At this point, all tabulator memory
units (prom-packs/program cards) should have been forwarded to the vendor or
election official responsible for installing the programming for the November
general election. Cities and
townships that do not own or have access to have multiple memory units will
need to make arrangement for the download of August 3, 2004 primary election
data to floppy disk for the remainder of the Michigan 30 day retention period
which is followed by the 22 month federal retention period. The download will free up the memory
unit for re-programming in preparation for the November general election.
Please note that this same
requirement applies to the programming of all electronic voting systems (punch
card and direct recording electronic (DRE)).
HAVA Mini Conferences and QVF Software
Training Sessions: You may recall that several HAVA Mini-Conferences were
offered at regional locations throughout the state just prior to this year’s
August primary. While these conferences
were well received by those who were able to attend, we are aware that others
would have liked to attend but were unable to be away from their offices at
that time. For this reason, we
have decided to repeat these conferences over the next few weeks.
In addition, due to the numerous enhancements that have been
added to the QVF software over the past year, we have decided to “piggy-back”
our training efforts by offering QVF software training in conjunction with the
HAVA Mini-Conferences.
