QVF Software Version 2.7 Has Been Released: We have begun Phase I of this week's QVF software update.  This is the first of two updates to occur over the next few days.  We will release QVF software version 2.8 on Thursday when all sites have completed this update.  Today's update is primarily a security update.  Thursday's update will feature several enhancements including a new Precinct and Polling Location module, Mass AV Application module and Clerk Lookup module.

All QVF jurisdictions must complete both of these updates before we can continue work on the QVF to provide necessary HAVA enhancements.

Jurisdictions are encouraged to perform each update as soon as possible. We ask that sites re-try their software update process if it fails on the first attempt before contacting the helpdesk. Due to the high volume of updates, it may take more than one attempt.  We appreciate your patience.  Detailed release notes can be found under Help->Release Notes after updating to the new version.

Software Update Procedure:

  1. Make sure that all QVF software is closed (this includes client machines); your replication will fail and/or you could experience data loss if you miss this step .
  2. Establish a connection to the Internet. Most users will do this via a yellow telephone icon found on your desktop called MichNet.
  3. Run the QVF Server Manager. This program icon is found on your desktop or under Start-> Programs-> Michigan QVF.
    •  If you do not see the Michigan QVF folder under Start-> Programs, click on the small double arrow icon displayed at the bottom of your programs list to view the hidden folders.
  4. After running the QVF Server Manager, you will see a warning message display. Click OK to close that message.
  5. Click on the Update Server Now button to start the update.
  6. When you see the message stating your "Server has been updated successfully", click OK to complete the process.

Expect this update to take 2-3 minutes longer than a typical replication.
