QVF
Software Version 2.11 Released:
A new version of the QVF software was released on Monday morning. This
pre-election software release is available to for jurisdictions that may
benefit from the enhancements when they print precinct lists for May 3
elections. Jurisdictions that wish do upgrade may do so immediately. We will
not require an upgrade until after May 3.
Follow the instructions below to update your software to take advantage of new
functionality.
Version Updates:
When the user selects "Name" in one of the
precinct list's User Defined Fields, the module no longer forces the user
to select (None) in the other User Define Field. This will allow you to
print both the voter's name and school district name in the User Defined
Fields.
Bug fix: The AV modules were printing two ballot labels
when issuing ballots to a voter who lives at an address with a
pre-direction.
Bug fix: When the user changed one of the
"Registered Between" date edit fields in the Selection Criteria
screen of the Custom List module, the calculation performed by the [Count]
button was not affected unless the user physically existed the date field.
Adjusted the software initialization process so Local
Report Queue items are automatically deleted from the LOCALREPORTQ table
and associated folder when they are more than 30 days old.
Added a reminder to the Local Report Queue module
notifying the user that items stored in the Local Report Queue are kept
for no more than 30 days.
Software Update Procedure:
Make sure that all QVF software is closed (this includes
client machines); your replication will fail and/or you could experience
data loss if you miss this step.
Establish a connection to the Internet. Most users will
do this via a yellow telephone icon found on your desktop called MichNet.
Run the QVF Server Manager. This program icon is found on
your desktop or under Start-> Programs-> Michigan QVF.
If you do not see the Michigan QVF
folder under Start-> Programs, click on the small double arrow icon
displayed at the bottom of your programs list to view the hidden folders.
After running the QVF Server Manager, you will see a
warning message display. Click OK to close that message.
Click on the Update Server Now button to start the
update.
When you see the message stating your "Server has
been updated successfully", click OK to complete the process.
