Optical Scan "Rollout" Training Sessions:  Please be advised that beginning on June 27, 2005, several full-day training sessions on the new optical scan voting systems will be offered at regional locations throughout the state.  A complete schedule of dates, times and locations is provided below. 

 

Each session will include an overview of the election day  procedures and forms that are unique to precincts in which optical scan voting systems are used.  Participants will also receive detailed instruction on the administrative responsibilities that apply to the use of electronic voting system users including pre-election logic and accuracy testing requirements. 

 

The clerks of jurisdictions that will be using optical scan voting equipment for the first time, to administer the upcoming August and September elections are strongly encouraged to attend.  All programs are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m.  Participants are requested to bring a pencil and a ruler with them to training.  NOTE: These training sessions are not designed for the training of election inspectors.

 

An RSVP is requested.  Officials that plan to attend one of the sessions being offered in Wayne, Oakland or Macomb Counties are requested to RSVP with the county clerk's office for that county.  Officials that plan to attend at one of the other locations are requested to RSVP by contacting Sandy Prenger at  517-335-5141 or prengers@ameritech.net.  Please provide the name of your home county, jurisdiction, number of people that will be attending, and the date and location of the session that you plan to attend.
