scan voting equipment for the first time this year, as well as to others who
may be interested in additional training.Thank you!
Optical Scan "Rollout" Training Sessions:Please be advised that beginning on
September 7, 2005, fifteen full-day training sessions on the new optical scan
voting systems will be offered at regional locations throughout the state.A complete schedule of dates, times, and
locations is provided below.
Training topics:Each session will include an overview of the
election-day procedures and forms that are unique to precincts in which optical
scan voting systems are used.Participants will also receive detailed instruction on the
administrative responsibilities that apply to the use of electronic voting
systems including pre-election logic and accuracy testing requirements.
Who should attend:
All clerks that will be administering an election using optical scan voting
equipment for the first time this year, are encouraged to attend.In addition, all current optical scan users
that would like an opportunity to refresh or add to their knowledge of these
responsibilities are welcome.
All programs are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
and conclude at 4 p.m.Participants
are requested to bring a pencil and a ruler with them to training.NOTE: These training sessions are not
designed for the training of election inspectors.
