Oracle
Server Upgrade Today - the process
for upgrading our Oracle Database Management System to version 10g is
underway. The system will be unavailable until the upgrade
completes (probably this weekend or Monday). While the system is down,
sites will be unable to replicate, use the QVF Statewide Lookup or access the MichiganVoterInformationCenter. Though we are
urging that sites limit the amount of data entry made into the QVF database
until the system has been restored, voter searches should have no affect on the
success of the upgrade.
December 17th QVF Software
Upgrade - We are encouraging sites to begin getting prepared for
the major QVF software upgrade that is scheduled to begin on December 17th.To prepare, make sure that your QVF data is replicated regularly beginning
Monday (once the Oracle Server upgrade is completed). If you plan to
be out of the office during any portion of the upgrade, please be sure that
someone will be available in your office to perform a replication in your
absence. If you will not be available on Friday,
December 16th, you may perform a replication on
the last day that you will be in your office, then
follow that replication by shutting down the QVF server before you leave.
