Precinct Errors on Precinct Delegate Filings: If a person who seeks a precinct delegate position makes a mistake in identifying his/her precinct of residence when filing due to a reprecincting change, the mistake does not preclude the individual from appearing on the ballot. In this case, it is the responsibility of the county clerk to notify the precinct delegate candidate of the error and place the candidate on the appropriate precinct ballot. If such an error is not the result of a reprecincting change, the county clerk does not have the authority to correct the error and the filing is invalid.
Michigan Information Center (MIC) is now called Center for Geographic Information (CGI): Effective immediately, the Michigan Information Center has a new name. The Center for Geographic Information will continue to support the statewide street index. Also, as a reminder, you will be unable to make changes to your local street index until redistricting has been completed. Until that time, street index maintenance requests may be submitted to the Help Desk. Our fax number is (517) 241-1591.
Secretary of State's Office Web Site Moves to michigan.gov: Secretary of State Candice S. Miller announced on 5-14-2002 that the Department of State has launched a newly redesigned web site, http://www.michigan.gov/sos. The new web site is part of the State of Michigan’s effort to enhance and streamline web sites among all state government agencies.
The new web site is organized by themes to make it easier to find the information you need. If you have a question related to elections you will go to the “Elections” theme on the left hand menu and there you will find everything about Michigan elections. (Note: This is the page that you may wish to bookmark in your favorites.)
Scheduled Maintenance: Due to scheduled maintenance, the QVF server will be taken off line beginning on Friday, May 31, 2002 at 7:00 a.m. until Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. During this period of time, jurisdictions will be unable to manually replicate or access the Statewide Look-up. Please note that normal work performed in the QVF software and auto-replication will not be disrupted.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
