Creating Voter Identification Card Files for Printers: The Help Desk has recently received calls from a number of jurisdictions that have attempted to use the Custom List module of the QVF to create an ID card file for a vendor. The Custom List module does not include this functionality. The only way to produce an ID card file for a vendor is to use the special QVF feature that was specifically designed for redistricting.
To use this feature, click on the QVF Reports menu and then click on Redistricting Cards. Select the appropriate ID card criteria and then choose Print to Zip/Disk. You will receive on-screen instructions on preparing a diskette for your vendor.
Issuing Absent Voter Ballots: Absent voter ballots should be issued as soon as they become available. Special priority is always given to military and overseas mailings.
Reminder - Software Version 1.76: Software version 1.76 was released on June 17, 2002. Please update your software if you haven’t done so already. To update, you must use the Server Manager icon found on your desktop. If you need assistance, please contact the Help Desk at 1-800-310-5697.
Firewall/Anti-Virus Software: The Help Desk has recently received calls from QVF users who have attempted to load sophisticated firewall or anti virus software packages on their QVF machines. If not installed properly, this type of software will intercept and halt any application that attempts to access the Internet. Correcting this problem can be expensive and time consuming. Please do not install any firewall or anti-virus software on QVF equipment without first checking with the Help Desk.
Statewide Look-up (SWL): In preparation for the August primary, we recommend that you access the Statewide Look-up to ensure that your username(s) and password(s) are still active. As we announced on November 16, 2001, under the 6 month purge program which took effect on December 1, 2001, if a username is not used for six months, it is deleted and must be re-issued.
As a reminder, usernames should never be shared. This means that each person accessing the SWL must be issued a separate username. New usernames may be requested by contacting the Help Desk.
