Installation of Updates and
Software Patches:When the State of
Michigan rolled out new QVF equipment in the summer of 2001, the Windows 2000
operating system was up-to-date in terms of security patches and bug
fixes. It is now time for us to install
additional updates and patches.
Beginning June 30, 2003,
technicians will be traveling to each QVF jurisdiction to install updates and
patches that have been released since the original rollout and are required to
fix a number of operating system bugs and address security issues. The installation time for these patches
should be around 30 minutes. It is not necessary for clerks to be
present during the installation as long as our technicians have access to the
QVF computer. No appointment will be needed. A technician will contact you a day or so before arrival.Installation of these updates and patches
will bring QVF systems up-to-date once again.
As part of the update, a
number of utilities, programs, and scripts will be placed on the QVF machines
to aid QVF helpdesk staff in fixing various problems remotely.
If you have any questions,
please call the QVF Helpdesk at 1-800-310-5697.
