Michigan Election Law MCL
168.31(j) mandates participation by all city, township, village and county
clerks and school election officials (school board secretaries). To
meet our obligations under the law, the Bureau has offered numerous
accreditation workshops at various locations around the state. The
workshops listed above are being offered to city, township and village clerks
as a final opportunity to meet your training obligations prior to the 2004
election cycle.
While these workshops are mandatory for clerks, you may bring a deputy or other members of your
administrative staff if you wish. These workshops are not designed for precinct workers.
If you have
already attended an accreditation workshop but have not yet submitted your
accreditation exam, we ask that you do so immediately. Again, our
goal is to ensure that all clerks receive their accreditation certificate by
the end of this year.
County
Clerks - Please pass this important information on to the city,
township and village clerks within your county who do not have QVF or who have
not attended any of the accreditation workshops that were previously offered.
