QVF Software Upgrade -
Version 2.4: A
new version of the QVF software will be released Sunday June 27, 2004. Because this upgrade will contain
several major HAVA enhancements, a precise series of events must take place
that will require your cooperation.
Please Adhere to
the Following Schedule:
Friday June 25, 2004 PM:
·
Make sure
your server is left on
over-night so it can automatically replicate.
·
If you
usually do a manual replication, please do so prior to leaving the office on
your last business day before the above date. Failure to do a replication could result in loss of data.
·
**DO NOT MAKE ANY
CHANGES IN THE QVF AFTER THE REPLICATION HAS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY**.
Monday June 28, 2004 AM:
·
You will
receive an email and/or fax requesting that you manually upgrade your software
using the QVF Server Manager.
·
Open the QVF Server Manager
·
A message
will appear, reminding you that no other programs should be open. Click OK. All boxes will be checked
automatically.
·
Click on UPDATE SERVER NOW. The new software will download first
and then a replication will take place.
·
When the
notice SERVER UPDATED SUCCESSFULLY
appears, click on OK.
·
You may
now use the QVF program. (See the
QVF Desktop Reference Manual, page 13-1 for more details.)
·
**DO NOT WORK IN THE QVF UNTIL THE PROCESS COMPLETES SUCCESSFULLY**.
Attention
County Remote Access Users:
- Counties who have remote access users should disable
the PC Anywhere for the weekend.
- To do this, right click on the PC Anywhere icon on the
toolbar and click on DISABLE.
- Remote access users should not use the QVF from 6/25
through 6/28. If you do, you
will run the risk of losing your work.
(Note: If the upgrade fails after several
tries, please contact the Help Desk at 1-800-310-5697.)
