County Clerk and Board of Canvassers Training - Beginning September 11, 2006, the Department of State’s Bureau of Elections will conduct a series of regional training programs for county clerks and persons serving on county canvassing boards.

Each program will begin with a brief discussion regarding the tasks which must be performed in preparation for the November 7, 2006 general election. The remainder of the program will be devoted to the procedures associated with the canvass and certification of elections and the conduct of vote recounts. Past programs have been well received and have led to greater consistency in the manner in which county canvassing boards throughout the state perform their duties.

All sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. (Please note CST in Iron County.) We are asking all county clerks to forward a copy of this notice and schedule to the members of their canvassing boards. Please feel free to attend the session that is most convenient to your location and schedule. An RSVP is not required. Please do not hesitate to contact this office if you have any questions.
