Refresher
Training on the AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminals (VATS), Provisional Balloting
and Dual Ballot Procedures:
Beginning
October 2, 2006, the Department of State’s Bureau of Elections will conduct a
series of countywide training programs for local clerks, deputies and precinct
chairs.
Each program will include segments on
the effective employment of the AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminals (VATS) and the
proper administration of Michigan’s provisional balloting system. Information on the special procedural
steps which must be followed in jurisdictions that plan to issue two optical
scan ballots to each voter that participates in the November 7 general election
will also be provided.
Attention County Clerks! If you have made arrangements to offer
this program in your county, please forward a copy of this notice and schedule
to the clerks within your county that do not receive e-mail via the QVF
system. A complete listing of the program dates,
times and locations is provided below.
(Please note Central Standard Time (CST) for Menominee and Dickinson
Counties.) An RSVP is not
required. Please do not hesitate to
