AutoMARK Ballot Type Selection Alert:  For the AutoMARK to perform most efficiently, it is important that the ?ballot type" is set properly on your AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminal.  Jurisdictions using arrow style ballots must have the setting ?enabled" for Optech ballots.  Jurisdictions not using arrow ballots should not have the setting ?enabled."

To verify the status of the ballot type setting, follow these steps: 

1. Insert your flashcard and turn the key to the test position

2. From the main menu, select System Maintenance

3. Enter the password, then click OK (If you have forgotten the password contact the Bureau of Elections in the manner described below.)

4. Select Ballot Type Selection

5. Verify that the small white box labeled ?Enable for Optech Ballots" is checked or unchecked as appropriate:

   • If you are using arrow style ballots: make sure the small box with the header ?Enable for Optech Ballots" is checked. If it is unchecked, touch the small white box and it will become checked.

   • If you are not using arrow style ballots: make sure the small box with the header ?Enable for Optech Ballots" is unchecked. If it is checked, touch the small white box and it will become unchecked.

6. Click Done

7. Click Yes

8. When returned to the System Maintenance Menu, click Done

9. From the AutoMARK main menu, proceed as usual
