Correction - Michigan Retention Period and Release of Loaner Voting Equipment:  The retention period on the security of voting equipment used to conduct the November 7, 2006 general election will end on December 27.   If you have tabulators or AutoMARK voter assist terminals on loan from a vendor, such equipment may be released for return as of the above date.   Please be advised that, due to state authority recounts, the retention period is extended for the following counties: Gladwin, Clare, Kalamazoo, Saginaw and Ingham.  Jurisdictions in these counties may not break security on any materials related to the November 7 general election until written authorization is first received from this office. 

Please note that Ingham County was not listed in Issue #272 of the ?News You Can Use" that was forwarded to all jurisdictions yesterday as one of the counties in which the security of voting equipment and related materials is extended.
