Just
in Case There is a Partial Shutdown of State Government:
As
you may be aware, there is the potential for a partial shut down of state
government. If a shutdown is ordered, more information on this issue
will be forwarded before the end of the week. In anticipation of this
possibility, we are asking that all final ballot proofs for the November 6,
2007 election be immediately forwarded to the Bureau for review. Please
submit all PDFs by e-mail to the attention of Carol Piece at ElectionsPDD@Michigan.gov.
It
is important that you include "Ballot Proofs" and the name of your county
in the subject line of your e-mail submission. If corrections are
needed or any changes are made to the ballots following the original
submission and/or approval, the PDFs must be re-submitted. The
proofing of all PDFs received this week will be completed by the close of
business on Friday, September 28.
As earlier
announced, the Bureau will provide AutoMARK programming for all elections
conducted this year. If you wish to have the Bureau prepare your
AutoMARK programming, the final PDFs submitted for ballot proofing will be
used by the Bureau for the program preparation. If you intend to prepare
your own AutoMARK programming and do not wish to have the Bureau perform this
service for you, please make a notation to this effect when submitting your
final PDFs for ballot proofing.
