QVF
Software Version 2.34 Release: A
new version of QVF Software which contains enhancements to how Precincts and
Polling Locations are assigned, is now available. All QVF users will need to
perform a software update to take advantage of the following new features:
- While
multiple precincts can be assigned to the same polling location, we have
found that in some cases users have inadvertently re-entered the same
polling location multiple times when attempting to enter such assignments.
To help prevent future duplicate polling location entries, the software
will now warn the user about the existence of a polling location with the
same address before the duplicate entry is saved.
- When
adding new polling locations, always make a new entry as opposed to
modifying an existing entry. Modifying an existing polling location to
which one or more precincts have been assigned will result in a discrepancy
between the Michigan Voter Information Center (MVIC) and the QVF which can
lead to voter confusion. As a remedy to this problem, the new software
will not allow the user to make edits to existing polling location
information. Instead, a new polling location entry must be made.
