ES&S to Initiate Statewide AutoMARK and M-100 Preventative Maintenance Effort:  Election Systems & Software (ES&S) has announced plans to perform preventative maintenance on all M-100 tabulators which are currently under warranty and all AutoMARK VATs in preparation for the 2008 election cycle.  The following merits note with respect to the costs associated with the preventative maintenance program:

M-100 tabulators delivered in 2005:  The costs associated with the performance of preventative maintenance on all M-100 tabulators delivered in 2005 will be covered under the terms of the State contract.

M-100 tabulators delivered in 2004:  The costs associated with the performance of preventative maintenance on M-100 tabulators delivered in 2004 will be covered by ES&S if you purchased a post-warranty Hardware Maintenance Agreement (HMA).  If you did not purchase an HMA and you opt to have the preventative maintenance performed you will be billed by ES&S for this service.  

VATS:  The costs associated with the performance of preventative maintenance on all VATs will be covered under the terms of the State contract.

ES&S representatives will be contacting all county clerks in the State in the near future to finalize arrangements for the preventative maintenance program.

We encourage you to extend ES&S your full cooperation during this effort.  It is important that all voting equipment be in optimal working order as we prepare for a busy 2008 election calendar.
