Special Issue for County Clerks
New
City, Township and Village Clerks:
As a number of new city, township and village clerks have taken office since
January 2007, your assistance is needed to ensure that our records are
accurate and up-to-date! Please complete the attached "New Clerk
Survey" and return it via fax to Sandy Prenger at (517) 241- 4785. (If
there are no new clerks in your county, please indicate by writing "NONE"
on the form and returning it as requested.)
The
information that you provide will be used by our office to update our mailing
lists and for the scheduling of Clerk Accreditation Training sessions that
will be offered during the months of November and December. Michigan
election law, MCL 168.31(j), stipulates that all county, city, township and
village clerks (who conduct their own elections) must complete the
accreditation process within six months prior to conducting their first
election.
Your
return of the completed survey by November 30th would be greatly
