Ballot Storage: Past experience has
shown that humid weather can result in the swelling of ballots making
tabulation difficult. For this reason, we are asking that you take the
following steps to ensure that the ballots that will be tabulated on Election
Day are protected from moisture:
-
Secure all ballots, including all absent voter ballots returned for
processing, in a climate controlled (air conditioned) environment if
possible.
-
Keep all ballots tightly secured in their original shrink wrap packaging
until needed.
-
Never remove more ballots from the shrink wrap than needed.
-
Position one or more fans within the processing/voting area of the polling
place throughout Election Day.
The
use of these suggestions will help to eliminate problems associated with the
ballot tabulation process.
