72 More Days and Counting - Are You Ready? With Election Day rapidly approaching, we thought this would be a good time to remind you of some of the basic housekeeping tasks that should be performed as early as possible.

Suggested tasks:

1)  Ensure that needed maintenance and/or repairs on all optical scan tabulators and AutoMARK Vats are performed.

2)   Identify all available voting booths and ensure that they are ready for use.  While the legal minimum is 1 booth for every 300 registered voters assigned to a precinct, keep in mind that this is the minimum requirement and will not be adequate for this November.  Due to the anticipated record turnout expected in November, it is recommended that additional voting booths be set-up and ready for use at all polling locations.

3)   Identify all available ballot containers and containers that will be used for the transport and storage of programs (if removed following the close of the polls).  An approval sticker signed by the members of the Board of County Canvassers with an expiration date of May 31, 2010 must be affixed to all containers.

4)   Inventory all AV supplies to ensure that you have adequate quantities on hand.  Supplies include: Applications for Absent Voter Ballot, out-going and in-coming AV envelopes, List of Absent Voters (hardcopy booklet, if used), Instructions to Absent Voter Ballot Applicants, Instructions to Absent Voters and Ballot secrecy envelopes.

5)   Inventory Election Day polling place supply items to ensure you have adequate quantities on hand.
