Federal
Court Ruling: Today
a Federal Judge issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting election officials
from 'rejecting' original voter registration applications because the original
voter ID card was returned by the postal service as undeliverable. You must
immediately cease marking records "Reject - ID Card Returned." Instead, such
records must be marked "Verify - Confirm Address".
Until
further notice, please keep track of all returned 'original' voter ID cards and
corresponding ?original' voter registration applications.
The voter
registration record of a voter whose 'original' voter ID card is returned by the
post office as undeliverable must be treated the same way as the record of a
voter whose 'duplicate' voter ID card is returned as undeliverable.
We are
reviewing the Judge's Order and will provide more detailed information to you in
the next
few days.
