Optical Scan Warranty and Preventative Maintenance Contracts:
All
remaining ES&S, Premier and Sequoia Optical Scan Warranties expire on December
31, 2008. As a result, it is vital that any Optical Scan equipment issues be
reported to the appropriate vendor for repair prior to
December 31, 2008.
If you have optical scan equipment in need of repair, please report this to
your vendor using the procedures in place for reporting equipment warranty

Since the current optical scan voting system warranties are set to expire on
December 31, 2008, optical scan voting system vendors are offering a variety
of warranty and preventative maintenance options to their customers. At this
time, we suggest that you not enter into any agreements with vendors
for the purchase of these products. The Bureau of Elections is currently
pursuing a statewide proposal to provide assistance to clerks with the
purchase of the warranties/preventative maintenance contracts. We will keep
you posted as more information regarding this issue becomes available.
