Welcome to the Michigan Department of State Notary Public Search. To search for a notary public, click on Notary Search and enter the notary's name. You will receive information regarding a notary public's current status, including their county of commission, appointment date and the date their commission expires.

  1. Do not include suffixes, accent marks, apostrophes, commas or periods in the search fields.
  2. Do not include blank spaces in names (e.g., type McDonald, not Mc Donald). Hyphenated names may be entered (e.g., Smith-Jones).
  3. The correct spelling of the last name (or the first portion of it) is required when entering your search.
  4. Search text is not case sensitive.
