Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Allegan County to serve customers in the Plainwell area on June 1 – 2.

The facility is a full-service Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.

It will be at Plainwell City Hall, 141 N. Main St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

"The mobile office is one more convenient option for our customers," Land said. "We’re always looking for ways to provide better service and the mobile office allows us to reach every corner of the state."

Following its visit to Plainwell, the Mobile Branch Office will be in Iron Mountain, Westphalia, Elsie and Battle Creek. It has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly eight years ago.

Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department’s online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
