The Secretary of State Shelby Lakeside branch office at 13963 Hall Road will be closed on Friday, July 15 to prepare for its move to a different location. The last day for business at this location will be Thursday, July 14 until 5 p.m.

The branch office will reopen at 44963 Hayes Road in Sterling Heights in the Eastlake Commons Shopping Center on Monday, July 18 at 9 a.m.

During the July 15 closure, residents needing Secretary of State services may visit one of the following area branch offices:

• Troy
  1111 E. Long Lake Road
• Sterling Heights
  34208 Van Dyke Ave.
• Chesterfield Township
  51305 Gratiot Ave.

Friday office hours at Troy, Sterling Heights and Chesterfield Township are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Secretary of State mails notices to motorists 45 days before their driver’s license or license plates expire so that they have ample time to renew. Residents may "skip the trip" to a branch office by renewing vehicle and watercraft registrations online.
